Hey guys! The new AO is awesome, isn't it? Lots of new features we've been asking for for years! Like the edit button is back! we have new emoties! :D :P :unsure: :rolleyes: (that last one is my personal fave), photos and videos appearing in posts! FRIENDS' LIST! PMs! And lots more!

If there is any way we can improve on it, suggestions are welcome and will be passed on and considered for future changes.

Please post any suggestions you might have for making it even better here in this thread, and not in the other areas of the forum.

<p>You can also set up your preferences so that when you select "View New Content" on the top right you can see just the last 24 hrs, or posts you have not read, etc. etc. I usually select unread posts so I don't have to search for topics that I might want to check for replies - you can click on "mark as read" in the c) option if you don't want to go there but don't want it to keep coming up as unread each time  (I do this for topics I might not be particularly interested in, but I like them to come up just in case something interesting has happened <img class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://forum.adamofficial.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png"title=":)" /> )</p>

Since there's loads of history here, with lots of sentimental people, and members who worked hard on maintaining impressive threads of all of Adam's concerts, I would like a place where I could find those again.  It was amazing how someone kept all the performance links and it was always visible and so much fun to go in and poke around from the past.  Where is it now?

mermaidlady,  welcome to our new fabulous forum!

 

Those historic threads are all here. There  is a search feature at the top right of the page. Enter key words from the topic you want to find, make sure to toggle the search options to "forums", then click the search icon. If you can't find the thread using key words, you can search the "members" option if you remember the name of the member who posted the topic, then go to that members' profile and you can find links to all of their topics listed there. If you want to do a more advanced search, there is an option for that on the right of the search field, a gear icon.

 

 

If you are speaking specifically about the "concert thread" I bumped that to the front page for ya.

 

 

If you are suggesting, however, there be a separate section for those particular kinds of threads, we could poll the members and see if they would rather those threads go in a special forum section. However, the authors/maintainers of those threads might want to have the last word on whether they want their threads moved out of Adam Discussion.

 

 

I'd like to have restored the feature to be able change our photos so that we can upload a picture and it will automatically be resized to fit.

 

Twyla, has this issue been resolved for you? I see your avi is now visible. Was that the photo you wanted to change but couldn't upload? Let me know if this is still a problem for you.

Hi Flash Mod.  As of now this is not an issue for me because my avi did not disappear with the new changes.  I have no plans to change out Adam's charity bear but I do know from watching others that it it could easily happen.  Right now I was just responding to this thread as a suggestion for a better forum because several people are having an issue when there was none before.  If mine did disappear I know from being on another website with this same layout that I have no idea how to fit in an avi.

There is now a link from the forum back to the main site. Just click on "Adam Lambert" up there at the top of any page and it will go to the front page of the main site.

 

Original post counts are back in member profiles!

I keep hitting my "quota" of "likes" for the day.

 

First of all--how many is the quota?  And why does a quota exist?  Can we have it removed?

 

Which brings up another topic:  Where would I go to read about the forum rules and regulations, where I might be able to learn about the quota on "likes".  I know about the "Help" topics, but where are the rules for everyone to read when they sign up?

foxey, I have increased the daily quota of "likes" from 10 per day to 25 per day.

FYI, "likes", other than letting a member know that you appreciate their post, is what increases "reputation" on that member's profile. You can read about this in the "Members" section of the Help topics under subtopic "Profile">"User Information". "Likes" are the "positive reputation points" mentioned there. Unfortunately they neglect to say so.

The written guidelines that were originally established for AO are still up in the Official Announcements section. We just don't have a physical link to them from the forums page yet. No new rules or guidelines have been written as yet. Its possible they will be revised. If or when I can't say. In the meantime I will put a link to them in the announcements that appear above the forum.

I'm sure many of you have noticed the lack of any Adam/TOH ambience in our forum decor. That is certainly something that needs to be remedied! And so it will be. :)

We will indeed be getting a facelift that will remedy that at some point in the future. The team wants to make sure all technical problems are resolved first before making any aesthetic changes.

Recently, two Adam appearances (the houston show and Kissmas in NYC) popped up that no one knew about until they were found on twitter.  I would think that Adam's official website could inform the fans of his appearances also, instead of making us search cyberspace for them. 

 

Is that something that could be accomplished?

 

Come to think of it, the Fresh Fall Fest was never announced here either.

I would like to like more items before I get blocked from liking 32_EmoticonsHDcom.png  Although it does push me to get creative with random emoticons once I run out of official LIKE votes baby-seal-smiley-emoticon.gif.

 

On many forums the quota would probably be OK, but this Forum is especially active when there is touring, or appearances, or new releases etc. so lots of comments and posts to read, and using the LIKE option is a quick way to provide feedback to a post.

Why aren't all Adam's appearances automatically put into the Events section as they are booked/done deals?  

 

Adam Official would serve Adam greatly by being the first 'go to' place to for new news

 

instead of sending out the members to find out what's going on and coming across these things merely by chance.

 

Keeping the "Events" section on top of things also serves to keep things in order of upcoming date.  That's very useful to all Adam fans and would-be Adam fans. 

When we members randomly open threads around the Forum, it's very very difficult to re-find them or even notice them when they are new and fresh.

How great would it be to go into the Forum and open a thread for discussion giving Adam Official Events page as the source!?

 

Imagine new fans going to Adam's Twitter account, seeing the link to here, clicking it and then clicking on Events to see EVERY place Adam is publicly working his heart out to share his talent.  (When I check out another artist the first thing I want to know is Where are they publicly appearing?) If you can't find the information on the Official website, where does a person start?

I have to agree with what others are saying. The events section needs to be updated. There are events missing as others have said. It is easy to come here and get that information but if it's not updated why bother? Thank you!!

THE EVENTS SECTION HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!  Almost everything is there now :)  

 

I think there is just one event missing now, a TV appearance (Oct 7th).  No, not Seth Meyers--wasn't there another one?

We really need a section separate from Adam Discussion to talk about Adam's Public Appearances only and leave Adam Discussion open for all the other non event conversations.

Good idea Twyla.  There has been so much activity lately that threads might be far down the page by the time I get on in the afternoon.

32_EmoticonsHDcom.png   It would be a good idea to have a separate section as a general idea, but I always just select to look at New Content I have not read, and that brings up ALL posts in ALL sections regardless (obviously only those that qualify)

I would like to request that the Recent Topics list (on the FORUM page) of the five most current posts be increased to ten.

 With so much activity from Adam, it's easy to miss a current posting in the shuffle on Adam Discussion.  We could avoid some duplications if we could tell at a glance what is new.
